Hon. Sallyanne Atkinson AO
Sallyanne started her career as a journalist and went on to become Lord Mayor of Brisbane and Special Representative for South East Asia for the Queensland Government. Sallyanne now holds several non-executive director roles for local and national organisations and companies. She was recently appointed as Chairman of the Museum of Brisbane.
James started his career with Corporation Builders and worked his way up to Executive Director. He also founded Enterprise Angels, one of the first business angel networks in Australia. In 2006 he founded Queensland Leaders, an initiative to work with Queensland’s leading private companies to assist them become national or international market leaders. James studied accounting at QUT and then completed an MBA from Bond University.
Derek Cronin was admitted as a solicitor in 1994 and has practiced in commercial litigation, debt recovery, insolvency and dispute resolution for more than 20 years.Formerly a partner of a firm of a large commercial litigation practice in Brisbane, he returned to the Gold Coast and established Cronin Litigation in January 2006.Derek believes that it is important to recognise the high level of service clients require and he prides himself in being available to service clients’ needs whenever they are required.

Tom Pickett holds a Law Degree from Bond University, along with a Graduate Certificate in Applied Finance and Investment. Mr Pickett has experience in a range of sectors including mining exploration, law, tourism and hotels, having held executive appointments in these areas for both ASX listed and private companies. Mr Pickett is currently the Executive Chairman of Cannindah Resources and has held numerous board positions on other ASX listed companies over the past 15 years. His experience in the management of exploration activity across a number of projects in North Queensland for both gold and copper is a valuable asset to Cannindah Resources Limited.
Hon. Judy Spence
Judy has extensive work experience in education and in government. She had a 22 year political career in the Queensland Parliament. For 12 of those years she served in high level ministerial positions as Minister of Police and Corrections and Sport, Minister for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, Minister for Fair Trading, Families, Disabilities and Womens Policy.
Her achievements included:
Leading the reform of the Committee system of the Queensland Parliament
Overseeing the delivery of new prisons, police stations, stadiums
Introducing groundbreaking laws to limit the supply into Aboriginal communities
Leading three parliamentary Trade Delegations to Asia, Europe and North America
Judy holds a number of appointments in community organisations and is Griffith University Business School Alumnus of the Year.
Murray has over 35 years of diverse national and international business experience. Murray began his career as an accountant in Perth. He founded Retail Food Group Limited (ASX:RFG) and led its global expansion. He is the current Chair of BPS Technology.
Murray’s current board roles include: Chairman of Management Resource Solutions Plc; Chairman of Barrack Street Investments Ltd; Director of Global Masters Fund Ltd; Member Gold Coast Light Rail Business Advisory Board; Councillor at Southern Cross University; Director of Tasmania Magnesite NL; Trustee of Currumbin Wildlife Foundation; Chairman of the Bartercard Charity Foundation.
Jim has greater than thirty-five years’ experience in sales, marketing and business development. He has worked with chemical, laboratory distribution, in-vitro diagnostics and medical devices companies and has held senior management and board positions in Australia and internationally. Jim was a co-founder of three successful companies – Techlab Enterprises, Pacific Diagnostics (sold to Baxter, a Fortune 500 company), and Panbio Ltd (ASX: PBO, sold to NYSE listed Inverness Medical now Alere).
He has been a Company Director for over thirty years presently serving on five boards, and has held board positions with technology companies in early stage, and during commercialisation and growth. For the past twelve years Jim has been an active early stage venture investor and was a foundation Director of Brisbane Angels Group Ltd.
